THIS MONTH’S HIGHLIGHT

MDCT and the detection of incidental findings

Dear readers,

The progressive improvement in sensitivity and accuracy of MDCT technology has substantially increased the frequency of incidental findings. Sometimes called “incidentalomas”, these imaging findings are unrelated to the indication for which the CT examination was requested. Reporting these observations by radiologists is relevant and useful since further investigations may be required.

This newsletter proposes three clinical cases where the use of MDCT for neurological conditions led to the discovery of incidental findings not related to the main pathology.

We hope you enjoy solving these cases. As always, we welcome suggestions for new topics to be covered in future issues. For this purpose, please write to editorial@public.pixelentropy.eu/mdct-new.
