Cervicocranial MDCT angiography with reduced amounts of contrast medium: is it feasible?
by B. Ertl-Wagner, Munich, Germany

Introduction

The ability to perform CT angiography using a limited amount of contrast medium offers both practical and safety advantages. In an article recently published in Neuroradiology, Fujikawa and co-authors [ 1 ] evaluated the ability of multidetector-row CT angiography to delineate the cervical and cerebral arteries with a reduced volume of high-iodine-concentration contrast medium. They performed a prospective, three-arm study comparing three volumes of contrast media at two different iodine concentrations.
