Introduction


The paper from Brenner and Hall, entitled “Computed tomography – an increasing source of radiation exposure“ (1), is important because it recalls the potential risks due to the use of CT; these risks increase exponentially with the increased use of CT. This paper has already had a substantial impact on the medical community and beyond, which somehow makes this paper dangerous: in the public domain, most people do not have sufficient knowledge to fully understand the issues associated with radiation from CT.
