Patients with immediate-type hypersensitivity to contrast
Immediate Hypersensitivity Reactions
- Usually occur within 60 minutes postinjection
- Mild to moderate reactions include
- Nausea or vomiting
- Urticaria
- Diffuse erythema, angioedema
- Bronchospasm
- More severe reactions that require treatment include
- Laryngeal or pulmonary edema
- Hypotension
- Anaphylactic shock
- Respiratory arrest
- Cardiac arrest
